A flexible degree structure that allows students to leave a program at defined milestones with a recognised qualification and re-enter later to continue.

For example, exiting after one year may earn a certificate, after two years a diploma, and after the full term a degree. Supported by credit-banking mechanisms such as the Academic Bank of Credits, it promotes lifelong learning and reduces the cost of dropping out.
