A hierarchical framework classifying learning objectives by cognitive complexity: Remember, Understand, Apply, Analyze, Evaluate and Create.

Educators use Bloom's Taxonomy to design outcomes, write assessment questions at appropriate difficulty levels and ensure teaching moves beyond rote recall. It underpins much of outcome-based education and is used by Edwisely's Smart Assessment Engine to balance question sets.
