An institutional function, common at technology and research universities, that manages engagement with industry and external funding agencies, overseeing sponsored research and consultancy.

Through an IC&SR office, a model strongly associated with the IITs, faculty undertake funded research and provide expert consultancy. This generates revenue, strengthens industry-academia linkages and translates research into real-world impact.
